Jobs You Hate To Do

Plumbing. I loathe plumbing. Water leaks and drain connections bamboozle me and there is never enough duck tape or caulking compound to fix the leaks (only kidding). I have a toilet that needs a new chain that connects the handle to the flapper. It should be an easy fix, but with my luck it will turn out to be an all day project.

Even though I loathe plumbing, I still tackle the projects that are necessary and call in expertise only when I am sure I can't handle the task at hand. I'm sure that if elected to city council I will be faced with tasks that I really don't like or want to do, but rest assured, I will still meet the challenges head on. And when I don't think I have the expertise, I will seek input from others who may have a better understanding of the issue.

Hope you voted today.

  1. I voted today...Thank you. I would be interested to hear on how you would tackle the sandwich board signage issue downtown. Sounds simple, but seems to be getting complicated (convaluted). I understand you are in favor of 2015 but how do you see solving the 3 studies needed issue?

  2. I am in favor of sandwich boards, benches, flowerboxes etc. that compliment a business and add ambiance to our town. They should not be obstrusive and probably limited to a reasonable proximity to the business.

The 2015 Plan is just that. A mandated plan to help guide our city forward and be in compliance with state requirements. To the extent that it guides us forward and offeres areas of improvement I am in favor of the plan.

I do not have enough information at this time to provide an opinion on the necessary remaining studies. I will seek input from those currently involved with the issues to understand the requirements of the studies and the various options available. It is important that the output of each study be both thorough and affordable, a balance that is often a challenge to achieve.
